2008 LA Auto Show goes Green


LA Auto Show 2008 took place when the US automobile industry is at the height of crisis. Most of the car makers grabbed this opportunity to flaunt their latest technology cars at the auto show. As the world turns to green, so was 2008 LA Auto Show choked with green cars, hybrids, fuel cells, efficient diesels and electric cars. This is one reason why in spite of the downturn, Media attention was glued on the 2008 LA Auto Show.

Automakers addressed the environmental challenges and how green cars can help the cause. Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO of Nissan and Renault, spoke about the challenges concerning the environment in his keynote speech at the show’s opening. The green cars that dominated this year’s show include Honda FC Sport Concept, Natural Gas Toyota Camry, Mini E, Hyundai FCEV, Natural Gas Toyota Camry, Mitsubishi MIEV and BMW 7 Series ActiveHybrid.
