BMW Unveils S 1000 RR Race Bike

After a lot of speculation, it has been confirmed that folks at BMW are coming out with their new superbike, BMW S 1000 RR, that will hit the markets next year. General Director of BMW Motorrad (BMW Motorcycle ), Hendrik von Kuenheim gave way to all the speculations by pulling the covers off their new model and he also said that the company is committed to build 1000 units the next year.

The new bike is powered by a 1000cc inline-four cylinder engine that is placed transversely between the frame rails and its upside-down front fork. Going by the looks, we can say that the bike is made of carbon fiber, thus reducing its weight to be on par with competition in the industry. Another special feature of this bike is its traction control feature.

Overall, this new BMW model looks compact and pretty in the pictures. Should wait and watch how it performs on the tracks.
