BMW 1 Series

The side profile of the BMW 1 Series (three-door) resembles that of a thorough-bred racing car. The drawn out doors and the frameless window reinforce the sporting appeal. The appealing side skirts further add to the car’s looks.

In the four-cylinder petrol engines which the BMW 116i, 118i and 120i house, fuel is injected into the engine at the rate of about 3 times a second. This incredible level of precision is achieved by the positioning of the piezo injectors which are located centrally between the valves. The cars are able to operate in the lean-burn mode for extended periods and at for far higher revs.

The straight six cylinder engine found in the BMW 130i, which is the largest engine in the BMW 1 Series range, has valvetronic fully variable valve control. It churns out 265 HP and is capable of achieving a 0-100 in 6 sec. The top end attainable is 250 km/h.
